We’re looking for a driven, results oriented and solution focussed Software Engineer to join us in Babcock Mission Systems.

The difference you will make

As a Software Test Engineer you will work as part of a team to develop the software product. The role will focus on the testing of new features in the product, integration and system testing:
• Contributing to the design and development of tests to verify / validate new functionality
• Capturing, reporting & supporting the analysis of software bugs
• An opportunity to help shape the design and architecture as the software matures
• Supporting software releases, updates, and deployment activities

Who we’re looking for

Software developer with experience of Software Testing to contribute towards the development of an expanding product.

Required Experience
• Proven experience of Functional Testing: running and managing appropriate tests to ensure requirements are met.
• Proven experience of Non-Functional Testing: analysing changes to a product and/or service.
• Ability to identify, research and implement effective testing techniques and tools.
• Communicating issues and defects to stakeholders.
• Experience of Integration testing. Specifically designing appropriate, risk based, end to end system integration tests
• Exposure to Continuous Integration and deployment as part of a software release process.
 • Creation and maintenance of automated tests.

Desirable Experience
• Working with cloud platforms.
• Data management.
• Experience of web development.
• Experience of working with Communication Systems, particularly HF/Radio.
• Exposure to and knowledge of software architecture.
• Knowledge of coding or scripting languages.
• Previous use of Azure DevOps, or JIRA.
• Use of Code Quality Tooling e.g. SonarQube
 • Hardware and Software Interfacing Skills
