Dynamic (hybrid) working: This position is a 37 hours per week on-site role at our Bolton Manufacturing facility, with the potential to move to a rotating 12 hour shift pattern after an initial induction period.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Controller to join the Calibration & Maintenance team at our Bolton site. The main focus of the role will be to aid in the collection and return of commercial off the shelf (COTS) equipment over our two sites, collecting and delivering equipment and components to members of the Calibration & Maintenance team.

This will involve working with our external calibration provider to ensure out of calibration equipment is sent out and returned in a controlled manner and is recorded in SAP. Working as part of a small Control Team within the wider Calibration & Maintenance department, you will also be working closely with the other departments within the company with respect to raising request to store materials.

Key areas of responsibility are as follows:

  • Control of equipment on site.
    • From COTS (commercial off the shelf) down to components e.g. IC's, connector savers & service kits.
    • Creation of calibration and service kits and their redeployment back in to our stock holding.
    • Walk around to ascertain location of equipment.
    • Updating SAP.
    • Working with our external calibration provider.
    • Organisation of current stock and regular stock taking.
    • Using Jira to notify people of status of items in work.
  • Assisting the Control Team Lead and technical admin in day to day operation.
    • Liaising with relevant Engineering function to determine their requirements
    • Deploying critical spares packages and managing calibration requirements to minimise downtime to production.

What's in it for you:

You will be working in a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive manufacturing environment. The Calibration & Maintenance department has a great mix of people, ranging from apprentices and graduates through to experienced engineers, all striving to deliver technical excellence across our state of the art manufacturing facility.

What we're looking for:

  • Good experience of SAP and Jira.
  • Ability to assess priorities and workload planning.
  • Experience in store management techniques.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office to generate technical documents.
