What will I be doing?

As Strainstall’s Asset Monitoring Division continues to expand in the UK, there is the requirement to grow the Project Delivery Team within the business to support both existing and new contracts. In order to support this growth an opportunity exists for Monitoring Engineers to join the team. This role would entail the planning, management and successful delivery of multiple projects.

  • Ensure that assigned projects are delivered in a safe manner, to schedule and in accordance with customer requirements, as defined in the Contract.
  • Ensure projects are executed in accordance with Strainstall’s Processes and associated procedures and that the governance is maintained throughout the project.
  • Ensure that projects are executed in accordance with agreed contractual terms and conditions.
  • Work with HSEQ Department to ensure compliance with all Safety, Quality and Environmental and policies, processes and procedures.
  • Accurately communicate task and project progress (weekly & monthly reporting) to the Project Manager, in accordance with the approved reporting processes.
  • Inform Project Manager of any project changes/variations.
  • Support activities associated with sub-contractor and equipment selection and acquisition with Strainstall’s technical, commercial and procurement functions.
  • Effective communication to the PM and between key stakeholders for the purpose of resolving technical, commercial or procurement issues.
  • Provide quantified feedback to Project Manager and Head of Asset Management to inform future tenders and proposals.

What experience do I need?

Our team consists of the best, highly skilled and qualified Engineers and we want our new recruits to have the same attitude, aptitude and appetite for what we do. 

  • Significant experience installing structural monitoring systems (wired or wireless) and sensors (strain gauges, inclinometers, accelerometers, displacement gauges, temperature gauges, etc). (Highly desirable)
  • Significant site experience. Site experience as a supervisor managing site teams.
  • Ability to prepare and work under RAMS, SSOW, Permits of Work and other site documentation
  • Knowledge/understanding of the components and design philosophy of monitoring systems
  • Be flexible and available to travel to site in UK and overseas from time to time, in support of project activities
  • Data Analysis: Ability to review sensor data and report on sensor/system status
  • Hold existing CTC level security clearance (desirable – if not, then ability to obtain CTC level clearance is required)
  • Ideally an Engineering background (mechanical, electrical or civil)
  • Knowledge/understanding of CDM regulations (desirable)
  • GWO Training and IRATA are desirable
  • Experience working in the Rail Industry or on offshore wind projects is again ideal but not essential
