The role
As a Support Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary to support the delivery of Type 23 frigates and other warships for the Royal Navy Fleet.

Day to day you'll be assisting the Senior Support Engineer (SSE) with the management of all production based paperwork and resolving issues for the smooth transition from the planning phase into production.

  • To assist the SSE (Senior Support Engineer) and Production Manager with the control of manageable tasks and to ensure all supporting information is in place prior to release with use of the Look Ahead reports
  • Assist with undertaking and entering surveys to support the SSE and project
  • Assist the SSE with the co-ordination of all sub-contract activities associated with the refit
  • Any other roles, which are deemed within the individuals capabilities as directed by the project and SSE

This role is full time is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience of the Support Engineer:

  • Demonstrable experience in an engineering environment
  • Competent in verbal and written communications
  • The ability to interface with managers and customers at all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages

Qualifications for the Support Engineer:

  • Ideally an ONC or equivalent level, in an engineering / technical subject or as determined by the Project Manager due to previous relevant experience however, time served experience within a relevant environment will be accepted.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
