The Opportunity

As a successful applicant you will be part of the HIL (Hardware In the Loop) Design Squad, a cross functional team where your strong Systems Engineering mindset and skills will complement our HIL technical expertise.

 …by leading the definition and design of state-of-the-art harmonised HIL systems solutions.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Delivery of HIL systems designs at the required/agreed level of abstraction, across multiple Jaguar Land Rover Domains 
  • System Functional and Non-Functional Analysis - carry out a range of analysis and investigations of the customer requirements to define the expected system functionality and their performance targets.
  • Evaluate multiple system design concepts and maintain integrity between system and its components to arrive at a harmonised solution
  • System Functional and Physical Architecture - Liaise with architecture teams and suppliers to maintain alignment with the specified programmes, as well as electrical and physical simulator architecture.
  • System Design Specification – prepare system requriements specification and developing functional designs, demonstrating how the system satisfies the defined customer requirements
  • System Integration – Define system logical and physical architecture, Interface Control Document and a system integration plan.
  • Lead cross-functional technical reviews on the systems
  • Assist and contribute to the generation of system targets and verification methods that are driven by requirements
  • Provide technical support and assistance across the rig operational team, on topics relating to the integration and harmonisation of multiple interconnected components
  • Work with Transversal Architects, Technical Specialists and Subject Matter Experts (internal and/or external) to develop and maintain HIL Design best practices, standards and processes 
  • Adhere to the defined systems engineering process
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their Product Owner / Line Manager in connection with their job as may be requested

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Relevant experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment - ideally within the Automotive Sector
  • Model based engineering (MBE) 
  • Requirements Management (RM)
  • Analytical and problem solving skills, with proven experience in applying Systems Engineering and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach
  • Relevant experience of system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modeling, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance
  • Good verbal and written communications
  • Track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred


Desirable

  • Experience in Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML using Catia Magic
  • Experience in IBM Rational DOORS or similar requirements management tools
  • Experience and knowledge in xIL (Model/Software/Hardware in the Loop) technologies, tools and processes
  • Analytical skills including the ability to conduct complex research into new technologies and V&V (Verification and Validation) systems and tools
  • Experience of integrated vehicle electrical test systems and strategies and diagnosticsFamiliar with Agile Scrum methodology
  • Full driving licence
