The role
As a Senior Systems Engineer you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Mission Systems enable our customers to deliver their mission, through our products and solutions, using intelligence and analysis and delivering critical communication services. Our aim is to be at the centre of our customers' modern digital backbone by connecting and delivering sensors, decision support, and air effectors across military and business domains.

Day to day, you'll make a difference you will make by supporting us delivering the next generation of Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) Radio Frequency (RF) Communications solutions for a variety of national and international customers. This role represents a fantastic and rare opportunity to play a senior role in a dynamic delivery team, working on new and exciting projects as part of a rapidly expanding organisation.

  • Owning and leading all requirements activities for the programme
  • Working with the Engineering leads and design team, eliciting, deriving, and managing system and sub-system requirements.
  • Managing requirements traceability activities and documentation.
  • Leading Validation, Verification, Test and Acceptance activities.
  • Lead in the definition of activities in response to customer change.

This role is a full time position at 37 hours per week and will be based at our Ashton House site in Bristol with hybrid working from home arrangements up to 3 days per week. There is a requirement to travel to our customer location in Corsham as part of the role.

Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential experience of the Senior Systems Engineer:

  • An experienced senior engineer with a proven track record of requirements management, validation and verification activities.
  • Have a proven track record of delivering systems into the UK MoD, working with MoD requirements sets.
  • An expert in IBM DOORs.
  • Work collaboratively with the product and functional specialisms to deliver a cohesive solution for the customer.
  • An understanding of technical and project risks and is able to understand how these need to be managed.

Qualifications for the Senior Systems Engineer:

  • Degree or equivalent in Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering. HNC/HND with equivalent, relevant experience is valued and welcomed.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS and SC security clearance for this role.
