The role
As a Systems Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Mission Systems enable our customers to deliver their mission, through our products and solutions, using intelligence and analysis and delivering critical communication services. Our aim is to be at the centre of our customers' modern digital backbone by connecting and delivering sensors, decision support, and air effectors across military and business domains.

Day to day, you'll support Mission Systems in delivering the next generation of Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) Radio Frequency (RF) Communications solutions for a variety of national and international customers.

  • Lead and manage design solutions, maturing system architecture, product design and producing contract engineering deliverables
  • Own and direct interfaces and trade-offs between systems, sub systems and functions
  • Lead the technical solutions in response to customer requirements, from concepts through to in-life support
  • Develop, build, test and trial solutions
  • Create high quality design documentation


Essential experience of the Systems Engineer

  • Pro-active engineers with a theoretical and practical engineering background
  • Have a proven track record of successful systems engineering design and support
  • Engineering expertise across the engineering lifecycle V-Model from initial concepts, requirements, design, implementation, integration, verification, validation, maintenance and supportability
  • Work collaboratively with the product and functional specialisms to deliver a cohesive solution for the customer.
  • Experience within telecommunications or radio communications, commercial or military is essential.

This is a full time position at 37 hours per week, worked on a hybrid basis (2 site days per week). Your site days could be from our offices in Ashton Vale, Bristol or at our Customer's site in Corsham, Wiltshire.

Qualifications for the Systems Engineer

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering.

The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining 'Security Check' (SC), 'Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program Information' (NNPPI) or 'Developed Vetting' (DV) level of security clearances). Factors such as current nationality, previous nationalities held and the country in which you were born may also affect the type of role that you can be employed in.
