The team deliver end to end solutions from bespoke embedded hardware and firmware to database design and data analytics\reporting tools within a highly regulated environment.

To support our continued growth, we have opportunities in this team to join us as a Systems Engineer, taking responsibility as either a PRODUCT OWNER, or a SOFTWARE DEVELOPER.

PRODUCT OWNER:

With an increasing portfolio of Systems and a maturing culture of Agility there is a need for a single point of focus on the delivery of the Systems Engineering backlog. This role will help the Operations Systems Engineering manager to prioritize the team to meet the overall business goals and to work with the SCRUM master(s) to balance the resource in the teams to deliver the backlog.

Witney already has a highly automated production facility but with the increased application of machine-to-machine data exchange and data analytics within the OE (Operational Environment) ADC is ensuring that it both capitalises on these advances and manages the risks associated with this increased IOT connectivity. This role will also manage the Systems Engineering Cyber security backlog in the OE space as well as represent the site on the divisional Digital Champions Network (DCN) as it matures its Industry 4.0 strategy.

Day to day, you will

  • Work with technical stakeholders to define and priorities the product backlog for a range of simultaneous product pipelines.
  • Understand and manage the divisional cyber security commitments backlog.
  • Run\facilitate backlog refinement sessions with the team for all pipelines.
  • Facilitate sprint reviews.
  • Work with the Systems Engineering manager to ensure delivery of the system backlog.
  • Represent the Witney site at the DCN.
  • Ensure that the delivered software systems adhere to the required Quality System requirements.

To be successful, you are a skilled Agile Scrum product owner used to managing a complex backlog with multiple work streams and products. You have a strong negotiating voice when facing stakeholders and relish the opportunity to deliver value to a business through technology. Ideally you have worked within a Systems team delivering software in a Medical Device or similarly regulated environment. You are a committed and enthusiastic technologist interested in manufacturing and business systems used to deliver features in a changing environment. You thrive in a dedicated team of skilled engineers, but you also embrace the opportunity to represent the systems team at a senior management level. As a minimum, you will bring a HNC level (or equiv) qualification in an Electronic, Control or Software related engineering discipline.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER:

The Operations Systems Engineering team are highly Agile, developing test driven solutions within CI\CD pipelines managed in the Azure Dev Ops environment. In this role, you will be working alongside a highly skilled and committed team of engineers who relish the challenge of keeping their skill set relevant and their design and working practices professional.

You will bring with you a demonstrable set of Object Orientated skills based around the C# language. You will be comfortable in the Dot Net core and will ideally have experience in creating Docker or similar micro service orientated designs. You may augment this core capability with a good understanding of either AWS architecture in the cloud, Oracle data bases or you may have experience writing Embedded code for the ARM M Cortex, TI MSP430 or similar processors. You will enjoy collaborating with other engineers in a culture that values transparency and software quality above all else and achieves this within a highly regulated environment.

To be successful, you will ideally have worked within a Systems team delivering software in a Medical Device or similarly regulated environment, with preferable exposure to manufacturing environments. As a minimum, you will bring a HNC level (or equiv) qualification in an Electronic, Control or Software related engineering discipline. You are a committed and enthusiastic technologist interested in manufacturing and business systems used to deliver features in a changing environment and relish the opportunity to deliver value to a business through technology.
