The role
As a Technical Design Authority - IT Infrastructure, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will work collaboratively in a team of multi discipline engineers, subject matter experts (SMEs) and the customer to mature and develop creative solutions for our current and future clients.

Day to day, you'll:

  • Lead a design team, accountable for the creation of compliant system architectures and solution designs, working together under the direction of the Programme System Engineering Manager.
  • Provide in-depth technical expertise and system design ownership, collaborating with other SMEs.
  • Oversee engineers producing detailed specifications, designs and other key engineering deliverables
  • Manage engineering change to systems, deconflicting priorities as necessary
  • Work with the supply chain to lead technical interactions with suppliers

This role is full time working thirty-seven hours per week and will be based at Ashton House with hybrid working from home arrangements. There is a requirement to travel within the UK and overseas as part of the role.

Essential experience of the Technical Design Authority - IT Infrastructure:

  • A highly experienced networks, storage and compute platform professional
  • Have a proven track record of delivering systems into the UK MoD
  • Engineering expertise across the engineering lifecycle V-Model or equivalent from initial concepts, requirements, design, implementation, integration, verification, validation, maintenance and supportability
  • WAN, LAN, IP, TDM, Network security, VMWare, SAN, serial RS232/422
  • Demonstrable delivery of networks into a military context, JSP604, 440

Qualifications for the Technical Design Authority - IT Infrastructure:

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Degree or equivalent in Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering. HNC/HND with equivalent, relevant experience is valued and welcomed
  • Incorporated / Chartered Engineer or working towards

Please note that this position is subject to enhanced national security vetting. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining SC, NNPPI or Developed Vetting (DV) level of security clearances).
