The role
As a Technical Officer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be responsible in providing Lead Engineering Managers technical support for equipment throughout the Equipment lifecycle.

Day to day, you'll manage collaboration and repair contacts, handle and answer queries from contractors and clients about jobs and repairs, complete audits, review and rewrite technical documents. You'll also manage sub contracts that are passed over into the civilian world that we cannot complete on site.

  • Provide technical support for packaging, codification, ranging and scaling, technical publications, documentation, reliability and maintainability assessments
  • Provide technical support for Repair Management, Obsolescence Management, Configuration Control, Modifications, Defect Reporting, Calibration management, Asset Management, and product selection / user advice services
  • Provide technical support to the Inventory management team for capital equipment and consumable spares
  • Support the team to ensure compliance with the department and its suppliers (including UK and overseas calibration laboratories) as articulated by OIP who are the Engineering Authority and holder of Airworthiness delegation. Be prepared to undertake Quality Audits, locally or at supplier premises

This is a full time role based at our Donnington site. Upon completion of probation the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work 3 days on site and 2 days from home.

Essential experience of the Technical Officer:

  • Previous project experience
  • Previous experience in the writing or publication of technical documentation
  • IT literate, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Engineering background desirable either Mechanical or Electrical Engineer
  • Full UK Driving License

Qualifications for the Technical Officer:

  • Level 3 NVQ in Mechanical or electrical engineering discipline

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
