Reporting to the Programme Manager - Tendering & Aftermarket, Tendering Engineers are responsible for the development of high quality, customer focussed technical and commercial proposals which align with the company strategy. Tendering Engineers will act as key liaison between internal and external stakeholders to produce robust, accurate and detailed tender submissions considering technical definition, schedule, cost, and risk - as well as operational resources, capability and project loading. Governance will be provided from Managing Director, Programme Managers, Contracts Manager and Procurement Manager. The Tendering Engineer is a hybrid role of Technical and Commercial responsibilities

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of the Company Commercial Strategy, bidding for projects in line with current and best practice n BLGE operational teams across all products in the portfolio.
  • Demonstrate customer focus; concentrating on value-add activities. Deliver against early and continual engagement with our customers, suppliers and markets to understand broad base / systemic needs and value and address these in all actions / submissions.
  • Support the Business Development and Sales teams by qualifying all opportunities, enabling accurate prioritisation and positioning within the team and business workload / resource planning - Engage with Intermediate (Yard) and End User (Owner / Charterer) as required, to support the accurate definition of requirements and development of 'Bid-win' theme
  • Develop high quality, technically compliant, price and schedule competitive submissions for core projects
  • Manage Risks and Opportunities throughout Opportunity Development ensuring accuratecommunication of mitigation and realisation strategies into Operational Teams.
  • Provide Risk / Opportunity Update at Sales -Operations Handover Quality Management System

Essential experience of the Tendering Engineer

  • Experience working in an Engineering company, Commercial experience not essential

Qualifications for the Tendering Engineer

  • Must be qualified to Masters Degree level in relevant Engineering field

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
