You will be working as Test Engineer within Powertrain Test Operations (PTTO) where we utilise state-of-the-art test facilities to develop, verify and sign-off component, sub-system, and system level targets.  

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities 

 

Your will be responsible for developing instrumentation and data management plans, interpret design and network schematics of prototype units and translate into rig based testing, ensure continuous workflow by reviewing and preparing simulations for upcoming tests, and de-risking through planning and preparation. You will develop data acquisition and compilation systems, Develop standards for data quality and processes for instrumentation setup and installation. You will work across various test rigs to ensure data consistency and deliver correlation work packages across test beds, and ensure facility utilisation targets and testing gateways are achieved.

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

Essential:

  • Engineering degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Proven practical knowledge of data analysis using tools Example: CANALYZER, Matlab, Excel, Concerto, MDA,
  • Proven practical knowledge with instrumentation and measurement systems
  • Proven practical experience with 8D methodology either as champion or leader
  • Experience in doing spectral analysis for fault finding
  • Knowledge of electrical phenomenons like Electromagnetic noise and its potential effects in data quality
  • Experience in using scripting for data analysis using matlab, python etc
  • Proven Experience in hardware or software testing, development & debug
  • Proven Experience in structured problem solving and data analysis
  • Capable of reproducing clear and concise reports to present to JLR seniors and JLR suppliers

 

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of Calibration Tools such as ETAS INCA, CANape.
  • Extensive knowledge of vehicle networks and architectures (CAN/CAN-FD/FlexRay/LIN/Ethernet) at a protocol manipulation level.
  • Pratical knowledge of HiL toolchain SW more specifically Vector (CANalyzer/CANoe) and dSPACE.
  • Experience of automation systems such as PUMA, CADET, Morphee, LabView, AutomationDesk etc.
  • Some experience with electrified vehicle systems such as MHEV, PHEV and BEV.
  • Understanding of modern electrified vehicle control systems.
  • Some experience in automative testing.
  • Some experience in test facilities equipment..
  • Problem solving - Six Sigma, Green Belt Training and certification.
  • Good understanding of ISO standards (ISO9001, IATF16949, 14001)
  • Valid UK Driving license
