About the job

The Environment Agency works in partnership to tackle the impacts of climate change and manage the assets that protect Central London from flooding.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly skilled and dedicated team based at our iconic site Thames Barrier site in South-East London. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this vital role supports professional leadership on all aspects of electrical engineering, across several key sites and assets.

As a Chartered Electrical Engineer with a range of experience you will be able to operate at Senior Authorised Person (SAP) level, ideally in a High Voltage environment.

The role will involve:

  • Providing guidance and support on all aspects of electrical engineering, and after suitable training you will take on an operational role participating on a stand-by roster
  • Building and maintain relationships with key external suppliers and be comfortable operating at a peer level, both nationally and internationally.
  • Leading on major capital investment projects and contribute to the wider management team, both locally and across the wider business.

A driving licence is beneficial but not essential, although obtaining the required security clearances is a pre-requisite for this role.

If you are interested in discussing this opportunity further, then initially please contact Steve East via email  steve.east@environment-agency.gov.uk or phone 0208 305 4132
