The role
As a Thermal Insulator, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be a key support to engineering to allow works and completion of projects.

Day to day, you'll provide support to engineering teams to enable the completion of all planned preventative maintenance to ensure the department meets the objectives of the business. Other responsibilities will include:

• Support engineering teams to enable the identification and rectification of all system, manufacture, defects and alterations to ensure the continued availability and performance of Clyde Submarines, Surface Craft and the Estate.
• Ensure that work is carried out in line with current processes and make suggestions on improving systems and processes to increase productivity in accordance with set objectives and timescales.
• Work within all Health and Safety legislation, Safe Systems of Work and control of work processes within BM&T Clyde policies
• Working with armour flex tubing materials in teams of two, in a confined spaces environment

This role is full time 36 hours per week and will be based at Faslane, Helensburgh

Essential experience of the Thermal Insulator:

• The ability to work in tight spaces, with the ability to move around an industrial environment.
• Have an aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Candidates with no previous experience must be willing to enrol in a college course to complete a Thermal Insulation skilled worker qualification.
• Driving licence is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications for the Thermal Insulator:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
