Salary: Circa £76,000+ depending on experience

The opportunity:

MBDA Future Systems is the idea factory for future MBDA capability, working with existing product lines to identify capability enhancements, creating exploitation paths for exciting new technologies and exploring the solution space of next generation solutions, generating concepts and down-selecting those to mature into development

.

As Head of Area Protection Future Systems in the UK, you will be responsible for defining and delivering all capability enhancements that will retain and grow MBDA in the UK Area Protection market (Maritime and Land), owning the definition and delivery of the UK Area Protection road map.

This is a key senior influential position, requiring creativity and the ability to provide technical thought leadership, working with business development to define the market need and being confident to push disruptive technologies for exploitation. The ability to communicate ideas clearly to MBDA directors and engineering teams, as well as being able to drive these ideas to become a reality is absolutely essential for this role.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to create innovative solutions to complex problems and sell the value of these propositions to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders who often have conflicting priorities and needs.
  • Provide thought leadership to support Business Development in exciting Customers and Users in the Maritime and/or Land military domains,
  • Experience of working in an ambiguous environment and creating clarity
  • Track-record of bringing together a diverse range of Engineering Functions and successfully leading technical effort.
  • Strong personable leader, able to clearly communicate and influence across a complex map of stakeholders.
  • Team player with the ability to build and maintain relationships across a variety of teams and partners, both internal and external (and ideally internationally).
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a complex environment..
