As a Virtual Series Group Lead, you’ll establish trusting relationships with engineering teams, and be part of the Engineering Operations Organisation which is JLR’s centre of excellence for simulation and digital vehicle engineering. The Virtual Series Group Lead Engineer is responsible for ensuring completion of virtual series activities working on JLR’s New Modern Luxury Electrification Platform.

The role includes gathering and reporting technical status, introducing and leading delivery of Virtual Series development at programme gateways, presenting outcomes and making recommendations to the programme team. You will be part of a collaborative, iterative and agile team helping to deliver best in class digital solutions to the business and its customers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

• Forming key member of Vehicle Digital and Virtual Series Engineering Group
• Engaging with the engineering teams to plan and progress delivery
• Ensure technical assessments are completed to time and quality for report out at the key programme milestones and gateways.
• Planning, organising and running key programme events and meetings, communicating status/outcomes.
• Management of all KPI Digital Vehicle metrics.
• Highlighting changes to assumptions appropriately aligning with programme delivery
 • Running Agile vehicle reviews to highlight key successful outcomes, any incompatibilities for escalation to senior stake-holders

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Essential:
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas
• Analytical and problem-solving skills in approaching technical issue resolution
• Effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Experience of project management, planning and delivery is essential
• The candidate should be capable of expediting successful delivery through assertiveness, strong interpersonal skills, and negotiation with a wide range of multi-function teams
• A highly driven, self-motivated individual with capability to deliver results under pressure with minimum supervision
 • Highly proficient in the use and application Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Desirable:
• Experience in working on Agile Programmes
• Ability to work across functional teams and influence decisions
• Knowledge of whole vehicle automotive product design, systems or requirements.
• Knowledge of CAD, Bill of Materials, or CAE and other digital assessment processes, methods or tools would be beneficial
• Knowledge or experience in the delivery using Agile methodologies and Scrum would be beneficial.
 • A background technical or science would be beneficial but not essential
