The opportunity:
Following the recent announcement of MBDA investment in the LAND PRECISION FIRES FAMILY, a number of key roles have been identified to drive forward the technical delivery of these programmes. MBDA are looking for individuals who are able to contribute to immediate delivery of solutions for Domestic and Export customers, operating in the Land and Maritime Domains, based on our Brimstone and future Precision Effect Weapons.
As the Weapon System Firing Unit and Electronic Equipment Lead, your primary objective is to lead the electrical architecture and design activities within a multi-disciplinary engineering team as well as ensuring compliance to the defined interfaces to the hosting platform; in land or maritime based applications. You will be ensuring suitable flow down of Electronic Equipment requirements and collecting technical evidence through testing and analysis, that ensures their safe and secure application once delivered to the Customers. There will be opportunities to work with international design authorities as part of the Equipment development, to maximise commonality with other MBDA products and enable the development of a technical roadmap to continue to enhance the Surface Launch Brimstone capability throughout the life of the programme.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a broad understanding of electronics design for computing applications, high integrity hardware and networking technologies that can be applied to the delivery of a missile firing unit capability as well as ensure the effective interaction with other electronic subsystems, inside or outside the MBDA boundary.

You will achieve this through engagement with a broad range of partners across MBDA and external, in order to create and realise the technical delivery of the Weapon System capability. Reaching technical compromise, whilst still achieving value and quality.
This role is a rare opportunity to gain parallel experience in all phases of product lifecycle management; with an opportunity to continue through to in-service. You will also be working within an international context, expanding your engineering experience and network; including the exploration of offset capability in our partner nations
