The MEH alliance work across the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main MEH, cabling, and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's 2,500 rooms.

The role

As a Welding Engineer Coordinator, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be the link between the welding engineering team and the construction teams on-site.

Day to day, you'll ensure that the construction team have everything they need from a welding perspective.

  • Ensure that site welding activities are carried out in accordance with project requirements.
  • Implement weld procedures and welder/operator qualifications in line with the relevant codes and standards.
  • Assist in the establishment of welding procedure qualification requirements (inc., resource, materials, and equipment) for the project, liaising with Site Welding Lead.
  • Assist in the establishment of welder/operator qualification requirements for the project, liaising with Site Welding Lead.
  • Assist in the establishment of equipment requirements for manual, semi-automatic and orbital welding processes.

Essential experience of the Welding Engineer Coordinator:

Minimum HNC (HND preferred) in Welding & Fabrication OR equivalent experience
Experience welding professionally

This role is 37 hours per week, on a 9-day fortnight. There is a secondment allowance for anyone based more than 2 hours from site.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS security clearance for this role.
