Job title: Welding/NDT Inspector

Location: Sheffield

Salary: £39,873+ dependant on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

  • You will be conducting the visual inspections of welds using the relevant inspection gauges, inclusive of bore scopes
  • The role will require you to conduct welding compliance to the relevant WPS's, inclusive of welder qualification testing
  • As part of your tasks, you will be conducting Fluorescent Penetrant Inspections to ensure acceptance or detect discontinuities (defects)
  • Ensure ERP systems i.e. SAP are management
  • You will be establishing and adhering to relevant NDT techniques
  • It is required you will evaluate inspection results in accordance with applicable specifications, standards and drawing requirements
  • Ensure the population and reporting of inspection/test results are delivered to the Quality Engineer & Operations Function
  • You will be performing other related tasks as assigned by management

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Trade background - time served in trade discipline
  • Welding Inspection - Minimum CSWIP 3.1 / PCN Level 2
  • Dye Penetrant Inspection - Minimum PCN Level 2 or equivalent
  • You will have a strong background in NDT procedures & techniques.
  • The ability to read and interpret weld defects through visual and NDT techniques
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, procedures, techniques and contract requirements

Desirable:

  • Radiography - PCN Level 2 or equivalent
  • Rad Interpretation - PCN Level 2 or equivalent
  • Digital Radiography knowledge
