The Role
As a Welding Technician, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be involved in a diverse range of work from providing technical knowledge and shop floor based production questions, to carrying out audits at the supply chain.

Day-to-day, you'll support the Welding Engineer and Welding Development Manager at tender reviews regarding equipment status, procedure qualification and welder qualification as well as:

  • Carrying out welding research and development trials, and facilitating welding production improvements in both structural and pipe joints
  • The maintenance of BS EN ISO3834 and ISO14731-1
  • Compiling welding procedures and qualifications for the quality assurance department to be included in contract deliverables
  • Liaising with third party inspections regarding revalidation and qualification of welders
  • Monitoring welder qualifications/re-validation and subsequent notification/recall

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and based on site at Ashton House, Bristol.

Experience required of the Welding Technician

  • Knowledge of Word and Excel packages
  • Portable arc monitoring system experience
  • Structural welding experience
  • Understanding of manipulation and process production

Qualifications for the Welding Technician

  • Apprenticeship or proven experience in fabrication and welding
  • CSWIP-3.1 or PCN level two Welding Inspector (advantageous)
  • HNC in welding fabrication (advantageous)
