THE ROLE
This particular role is to join the existing team that are responsible for the development and future proofing of the platform / architecture (underfloor and front end content) on some of JLR’s exciting new projects. Hardware / content includes multiple propulsion systems to include but not limited to Internal Combustion Engines / Plugin Hybrid Electric Vehicles / Battery Electric Vehicles.
The team’s main responsibilities fall into 4 areas, such as definition and delivery of the overall Vehicle Layout for the underfloor considering future model year content; Integrating Systems into the vehicle to deliver the required system and attribute performance; protecting space in the Vehicle for future technologies and enhanced customer feature content and ensuring all package owned standards and requirements are adhered to in the underfloor zone on the vehicle architecture.
The area wishes to recruit a talented and enthusiastic engineer to ensure that our challenging targets are met on the current vehicles and subsequent model year changes within the platform.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
In order to be considered for this position it is advantageous to hold a formal qualification such as Degree within Engineering or any other relevant subjects.
The successful candidate needs to have experience of CATIA V5 & V6 for detail or packaging design and geometric integration; experienced Vismockup / Digibuck / 3DS user; structured problem solving approach & issue management skills; experience of using benchmarking tools to support idea generation; experience of negotiating solutions in an area of technical conflict; a proven ability to work within strict timing constraints; the commitment to deliver quality results in a flexible and dynamic team environment and ability to tell a data/ CAD driven Engineering story that efficiently highlights current status - work to do and help required.
